£50million-target may end up at Manchester United following latest development
As reported by the Irish Independent, Manchester United still stand a chance of signing Ivan Perisic as the player rejected a new contract offer from Inter.
Ivan Perisic being linked with a move to Manchester United arguably has been one of the longest running transfer sagas in recent memory but it finally seemed like the speculation would be put to an end following Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio categorically stating that the Croatian international is not for sale.
In addition, Inter were due to hold talks with Perisic regarding a new contract and it looked like Manchester United’s hopes of signing the 28-year-old were all but over.
Now in a new twist to the tale though, the Irish Independent have gone on to state that contract talks between Perisic and Inter have hit a snag due to the player’s high wage demands and that United still stand a chance of acquiring the services of the attacker.
Inter have held firm with their £50million asking price for Perisic and with the start of the Premier League campaign fast approaching, United now may well decide to agree to the fee – especially as the ex-Borussia Dortmund man has rejected a contract offer from the Nerazzurri.
