Adelaide United’s Guillermo Amor says ‘I don’t deserve a contract’ after crushing defeat to Perth Glory

United manager Guillermo Amor says he ‘doesn’t deserve’ to pursue new
contract negotiations after Friday night’s 0-5 blowout against Perth
Glory at Hindmarsh.

Amor apologised to fans after the Reds’ heaviest home defeat against marauding Perth Glory — that featured a Diego Castro brace.
It is understood the Reds have put contract negotiations with Amor on hold — unthinkable when Adelaide lifted an inaugural title last May at Adelaide Oval.
“After this result, 5-0, today is not a good moment. I don’t deserve nothing in this moment, I don’t deserve a signed contract,” said Amor.
“I don’t deserve after this result and situation of the team. It’s not good for me and not good for Adelaide in this case. In days or weeks it is possible we will speak. I don’t think of my future or contract.”
The champion is anchored to the bottom of the A-League ladder and virtually no chance of defending its title in the finals with eight regular rounds remaining.
“I think to win the next game, every game is a final now,” said Amor
Adelaide is 11 points behind Western Sydney Wanderers who host Central Coast Mariners on Sunday.
Brisbane’s John and Ross Aloisi have previously been linked to Hindmarsh homecoming should Amor return to Spain.
