When you break up with your SO, you live in hope that eventually, they’ll see the error of their evil ways.
One day, they’ll reach out and apologise for all their sh*ttiness.
And when that day comes, you’ll be as petty as you damn well please.
Which is what happened to Nick Lutz, who received a letter of apology from his ex-girlfriend.
And while many jilted former lovers might quietly celebrate their ex
finally admitting their mistakes, Nick decided that what the situation
really called for was a red pen and some viral content.
He corrected and marked the letter before uploading pictures of it to
Twitter with the caption: ‘When your ex writes you an apology letter so
you grade it and send it back’.
And it’s full of cutting annotations.
When she wrote: ‘I just hope to God you have thought about me,’ he commented: ‘I have not’.
Later on, the ex-girlfriend wrote: ‘I never cheated on you’, and Nick
underlined it and wrote: ‘Strong statement. No details to support your
hypothesis’.
Giving her a dismal 61/100 and a D grade for her attempts, he said:
‘Long intro short conclusion. Strong hypothesis but nothing to back it
up. Details are important.
‘If you want to be believed, back it up with proof. You claim that
cheating never occurred but place blame on yourself – then what for?
‘Need to stop contradicting your own story and pick a side. While
this gesture is appreciated, I would prefer details over statements.’
Despite the serious burn, he did offer his ex a lifeline.
‘Revision for half credit will be accepted,’ he concluded.
Pictures of the marked letter have now been shared over 100,000 times with thousands of people tweeting their support for Nick.
And people were keen to help Nick find the small errors that he hadn’t had time to pick up yet
